The Nishi-Nippon Railway Co. (Nishitetsu) announced its revenue for the first half of the current fiscal year fell 15% from the year-before period to 151.878 billion yen, according to its interim consolidated report. It was the company’s first revenue decline in five years. The company attributed the lower revenue to poor economic conditions, a downturn in its international logistics business, and the 1,000 yen toll on expressways during the holiday period that cut into long-distance bus usage.
