Nishitetsu Store to Accept Internet and Phone Orders for Home Delivery

Nishitetsu Store, a subsidiary of the Nishitetsu railroad and bus company that operates supermarkets, will accept orders over the Internet and the telephone for home delivery in part of Fukuoka City’s Minami Ward in May. To differentiate themselves from other Internet shopping services, staff will also go directly to the homes of the elderly who can’t use the Internet to take orders. About 3,000 different items will be offered in the service, which will cost an additional 315 yen on top of the cost of the purchase. The company plans to extend the service throughout the ward by October, and to other areas if the response warrants it.
