Nishi-Nippon Railway (Nishitetsu) announced that it will acquire all the stock of Saga City-based Uncle Fujiya, which operates liquor stores and supermarkets in that prefecture, and convert it into a subsidiary. Nishitetsu’s objective is to strengthen its presence in the retail sales industry. They said the sales talks were initiated by Uncle Fujiya. The purchase price was not disclosed.
