The Fukuoka City-based Nishi-Nippon Railroad Co. (Nishitetsu) announced that the use of its nimoca contactless payment card is now possible in the Kitakyushu area. The card can be used for payment on eight bus routes in the area, as well as four interurban bus routes between Kokura and Fukuoka City. The company plans to expand card usage on all 49 bus routes in the area by the end of the first half of FY 2009.
