Nishitetsu to Launch “Cycle Cargo” Service Allowing Bicycles on Buses

From April, Nishitetsu will begin operating a “cycle cargo” service that allows customers to bring their bicycles onto the bus. This will be the first service of its kind in Kyushu and is aimed at meeting the growing demand for cycle tourism. The company plans to target demand from cycling races such as this fall’s “Tour de Kyushu.” Nishitetsu will spend around 4 million yen to convert a charter bus to carry up to 18 bicycles and 21 people.
