Northern Kyushu Records Warmest Winter Ever

Prefectures in Northern Kyushu (including Yamaguchi Prefecture) experienced the warmest winter (December 2019 to February 2020) on record. According to a report by Fukuoka Regional Headquarters of Japan Meteorological Agency, average temperatures during the winter marked record highs at 13 of the 14 observation stations. The average temperature at Fukuoka observation station was 9.8” C throughout the three months, which was higher by 2.2” C compared to the average year.
