Northern Kyushu Warmest Winter on Record

Fukuoka Regional Headquarters of Japan Meteorological Agency announced on Mar. 1 that the average temperature of the northern Kyushu area during the winter 2018-2019 was the highest on record. During the three months from December 2018 to February 2019, cold fronts that approached the area were weak and warm weather tended to stay in the area. In Fukuoka City, the average temperature during this period was 9.2 degrees Celsius, which is higher by 1.6 degrees than the average year.
