The Fukuoka District Meteorological Observatory announced on July 25th that the rainy season has finally come to an end in northern Kyushu. This marks the latest nationwide conclusion of the monsoon season, excluding Hokkaido where the rainy season doesn’t occur. This year’s end of the rainy season arrived six days later than the average and three days later than last year. If the trend holds, it would be the first time since 2015 that the end of the rainy season in northern Kyushu is the latest in the country, matching a previous occurrence when northern Kyushu and northern Tohoku ended their rainy seasons on the same day.
