Number Of Constituencies In Fukuoka Remains Unchanged, But Borders Adjusted

To correct the so-called “one-vote disparity” in the lower house of the Diet, a government council recommended adjustments to Prime Minister Kishida. In Fukuoka Prefecture, the number of constituencies will remain the same, but the delineation between the 1st and 4th wards will be changed. Specifically, the Tatara 1 and Tatara 2 voting wards, Hatta voting ward, Aoba 1 voting ward, and Aoba 2 voting ward in Higashi ward, Fukuoka City, which are currently included in Fukuoka 1 ward, will be moved to the adjacent Fukuoka 4 ward. If enacted, the new district lines will be introduced after about one month of public awareness and are expected to be applied from the next House of Representatives election this summer.
