Odakyu Electric Railway announced on October 3, that they will open two new accommodation facilities in Fukuoka in spring 2022. One will be a business hotel and the other will be aimed at longer term visitors to Fukuoka. The company expects to welcome a significant number of travelers from overseas and the Tokyo metropolitan area. The plan is to establish a 14-story, 165 room business hotel, and a 10-story, 31 room accommodation block at a combined cost of ¥3.2 billion. Details about the interior have not been confirmed, but the average room in the business hotel will be 20 square meter rooms and cost ¥10,000. In contrast, the long-term accommodation block is set to offer visitors 35 square meter rooms at ¥15,000. The sites will be managed by Tokyo-based company UDS. Source: Sankei Shimbun, 10/4/2019
