2020 will mark 100 years since the town of Umi was established. To celebrate this milestone, they are openly calling for submissions for the special commemorative town symbol and catchphrase. These will be used for PR, websites, posters, as well as various kinds of projects. Residents of Japan (both Japanese and foreigners) are welcome to join! If you are interested in submitting, please be aware that organizers have asked for town symbol designs to done be in black and white, or using a limited amount of color. The catchphrase is to be 20 Japanese characters or less (spaces are also counted as characters). Deadline is on July 31. Source: Umi Town website, 6/15/2017
