The Otonari-wari (neighbor discount) tourism promotion project will be launched in the prefectures of Oita, Kumamoto, and Miyazaki. The discount campaign aims to restore regional tourism demand and battle against the negative impact of the spread of the novel coronavirus, by offering a discount of ¥2,500 per person for day-trips and ¥5,000 for overnight stays. Trips between Jul. 13 ~ Sep. 30 will be eligible. Also, tickets will need to be purchased at designated travel agencies to get the discount. Sources: Nikkei / Oita Pref
