Overseas Travel Agents Visit Kitakyushu City

Representatives from Asian travel companies were recently invited to Kitakyushu City in an attempt to increase the number of school excursions and training trips visiting the area from abroad. The city is making renewed efforts to attract tourists in order to capitalize on the establishment of a regular flight path between Kitakyushu Airport and Taiwan, which will start at the end of October. A total of ten travel agents based in China, Taiwan, South Korea, and Singapore visited a number of local facilities in an effort to better understand northern Kyushu. The group of officials stopped by Kitakyushu Eco Town to find-out about the city’s efforts to reduce pollution and explored a local automobile factory. Tourism associations based in Fukuoka, Kumamoto, and Nagasaki helped organize the visit. Source: NHK News Web, 10/9/2018
