Paid-priority COVID-19 Vaccination Fraud Scheme Surfaces

Fukuoka Prefectural Police are warning the public about fraudulent phone calls related to the new coronavirus vaccination. On April 5, a resident in Ukiha City received a call from someone claiming to be a Japanese nursing Association member. The caller suggested the resident transmit ¥20,000 to take part in an early vaccination program. A similar case had been reported in late January in the Chikugo area. The police explain that the region would never offer paid-priority vaccinations. Source: KBC / TNC
