Police in Fukuoka City arrested a couple in their 20s and teens on suspicion of injuring their one-month-old son at their home last July. Investigators say the 23-year-old father and 19-year-old mother allegedly shook the infant and applied strong force, causing serious head injuries including acute subdural hematoma. Both parents reportedly admitted to the allegations during questioning. The couple had moved from Mie Prefecture and were living with the child in Chuo Ward. After the incident, they took the baby to a hospital, explaining that he had become cold and experienced convulsions. Medical staff later reported suspected abuse to authorities.
