On May 2, Fukuoka Prefecture announced three more confirmed COVID-19 infections, bringing the cumulative total to 647. The three cases include a female resident of Fukuoka City in her thirties, who repeatedly developed slight fever (below 37.5°C) in the past four weeks. The woman stopped working at a restaurant with guest services after initial symptoms were noticed on April 6. The woman in her fifties developed diarrhea on May 23,  but her initial symptoms failed to register a concern of new coronavirus. Yesterday the prefecture recorded the twenty-second death linked to the disease. Meanwhile, a PCR Center opened in Fukuoka City, and the prefecture’s third center (including the one in Kitakyushu) will open in Kurume on May 4. Note that tests are only available for those who are referred by conventional hospitals and clinics. Fukuoka Prefecture / NHK / Mainichi
