Global confectionery brand Pierre Hermé is spearheading a new initiative, “My Sweet Nagasaki,” to revitalize Nagasaki City through the art of sweets. Led by Richard Ledu, CEO of Pierre Hermé Japan, the project aims to enhance local pride, foster community engagement, and train future professionals in the confectionery field.
Inspired by Nagasaki’s unique culture and history, which Ledu encountered during a visit in the pandemic, the project aspires to connect Nagasaki’s charm with the next generation.
The initiative’s first event is slated for March 2025 at Glover Garden. Highlights include desserts by Pierre Hermé and local confectioners, live demonstrations by pastry artisans, and performances by Nagasaki-affiliated artists. The event will be illuminated in the project’s signature pink, creating a memorable setting for attendees. Source: My Sweet Nagasaki / KTN
