Pietro Opens Soup Specialty Shop Inside Iwataya Department Store

Pietro, a well-known brand of salad dressings and pasta dishes, opened a specialty soup shop inside the Iwataya Department store last week. The restaurant is selling soups that are delicious and healthy – a philosophy Pietro has consistently pursued since its establishment in 1980 as a pasta restaurant in Tenjin 3-chome. At Pietro A Day, 18 varieties of soups including seasonal and vegan dishes are sold ready to be served; “Soup to Make a Day Happy” (gold-sautéed onion gratin soup), “Otsukaresama Soup” (a chowder with plenty of domestic mushrooms and 16 grains such as sprouted brown rice and pearl barley) and more. While packaged soups make a great gift as well as an everyday treat, bowls of hot soup are also available to go. The restaurant also offers counter seatings where guests can enjoy Bread Bowl (soup served in a bowl of toasted bread with salad and soft drink ¥1,320), Soup Set (with focaccia, salad, and bread ¥935) and more.
