Pietro Partners with Fukuoka City for Culinary Celebration of Local Produce

Fukuoka City has initiated an innovative culinary project aimed at enhancing the consumption and appreciation of locally sourced produce. In a groundbreaking move, iBank Marketing, a subsidiary of the Fukuoka Financial Group (FG) known for its expertise in financial app development, has joined forces with Pietro, a renowned dressing manufacturer. This partnership is dedicated to showcasing the rich array of vegetables grown in Fukuoka City through a specially curated, limited-time menu.

The highlight of this exclusive menu is the “Hakozaki Komachi,” a unique variety of green onion nurtured in the Higashi Ward of Fukuoka City. Pietro skillfully integrates these onions into an exquisite creation, the “Hakozaki Komachi and Red Snow Crab Peperoncino,” available for ¥1,408. This dish, a fusion of color and taste with Hakozaki Komachi at its core, will be offered from February 1st to 29th at three select Pietro establishments in Fukuoka City: Pietro Honten Centrale, Yomenya Pietro Solaria, and Pietro Canal City.

Expertly crafted, the dish features two preparations of Hakozaki Komachi: finely chopped to meld seamlessly with the noodles and lengthier, lightly cooked pieces to add a textural contrast. Taste tests have highlighted the onions’ unique qualities: a mild, crisp bite coupled with a refreshing aroma, enhancing the overall gastronomic experience.

The promotion of Fukuoka City’s produce extends beyond this limited menu, with regular offerings also spotlighting local vegetables. A notable example is the “Motooka Tomato” from Nishi Ward, celebrated for its harmonious blend of sweetness and tartness, perfect for complementing pasta dishes.

Local growers of Hakozaki Komachi and Motooka Tomato have voiced their pride and gratitude for the opportunity to have their produce prominently featured on Pietro’s menu. They eagerly invite diners to experience these culinary delights that truly embody the essence of Fukuoka City’s agricultural bounty.

Available next month, this exclusive and collaborative menu will be served at the aforementioned Pietro locations in Fukuoka City, presenting a rare chance for both residents and visitors to indulge in the authentic tastes of Fukuoka’s finest produce.  Source: Nikkei / KBC / iBank
