Kyushu Electric Power President Toshio Manabe said at a news conference that the company’s plans for expanding reactor #3 at the Sendai nuclear power plant in Kagoshima Prefecture and restarting reactor #3 at the Genkai nuclear power plant in Saga Prefecture, currently idled for a regularly scheduled inspection, will likely be delayed. He said that the company cannot make the decision itself, but has to wait for the national government to formulate its nuclear power policy. Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano hinted at a news conference this week that the government will reevaluate those policies.
