Plans to Open Floating Spherical-shaped Hotel

The president of Huis Ten Bosch, Hideo Sawada, has announced plans to open a floating, spherical-shaped hotel in January next year. The project will be pursued in line with plans to develop uninhabited islands owned by the company in the surrounding Sasebo area. President Sawada spoke of the possibility of installing robotic dinosaurs on some of the islands to create fun, impressive attractions for their customers. The floating resort will be two stories, with one room likely to be 36 to 38 square meters and big enough to accommodate four visitors. The boat is likely to set sail in the evening and arrive at the neighboring islands by the next morning. Huis Ten Bosch is also currently exploring the possibility of expanding their business overseas. They are planning to enter the Chinese market by opening a Shanghai-based facility in 2020 and are also considering the prospect of building a resort in Thailand. Source: Mainichi Shimbun, 7/10/2017
