J-Power of Kitakyushu announced plans to conduct trials of a maritime wind power generating system in the Hibiki-Nada area of the Sea of Japan. The testing is being conducted on an outsourced basis from the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization. A windmill with an eight-meter blade will be placed in the open sea and tests conducted of its commercial feasibility. It will be the first test of its kind in Kyushu.
