Population of Young People Soars in Central Fukuoka

The Kyushu branch of the Development Bank of Japan released the results of its survey that found the population of people in their 20s living in the two-kilometer area of central Fukuoka City has climbed by 21% in the last 10 years. One reason is the presence in that district of Kyushu’s largest shopping district, Tenjin. While the rents are high for the Kyushu region, they are more inexpensive than in Tokyo. The bank attributes the shift to the convenience of living in such a location.
