Postal Applications Maybe Faster Than Online for ¥100,000 Handouts

According to Fukuoka City, the nation’s web-application system used for the ¥100,000 handout program (My Portal) lacks functions to automatically link data of registered-personal information such as residential address, birthday and bank account. Therefore, approximately sixty Fukuoka city staff members are tied up in manually confirming data. Due to the paradoxical situation, it’s possible that those who apply by mail using a paper form with prefilled information linked with the city’s database will receive their money sooner than those who apply online.
