Potential Urban Growth High in Fukuoka

A study by Nomura Research Institute examined various aspects of 100 cities throughout Japan, and revealed that Fukuoka City ranks first in terms of potential for urban growth, while Kagoshima finished second. The survey covered major cities that have a population of more than 100,000. The research analyzed results taken from an internet questionnaire aimed at people aged 20 to 59. A total of 131 different indicators were evaluated, focusing on factors such as the number of companies inside a city and the size of its migrant population. The institute praised Fukuoka for creating a climate that facilitates innovation and the emergence of new businesses. Source: Sankei West, 8/28/2017
