As part of its efforts to promote the Prefecture as Japan’s leading hub for the hydrogen energy sector, the prefectural government plans to open a hydrogen filling station for fuel-cell vehicles on the premises of the Prefectural Office. Once the station opens sometime in December, it will be the second such hydrogen filling station located at a Prefectural Office in Japan (the other is in Aichi Prefecture). The station will be a mobile facility, with hydrogen provided from a special tank attached to a trailer. Full-time staff from Osaka-based LP gas giant Iwatani Sangyo will be on hand to to fill up vehicles. Including this new station, Fukuoka Prefecture aims to open 10 hydrogen filling stations by the end of this fiscal year. Source: Nishinippon Shimbun 9/8
