Prefecture To Lease Second Hotel For Covid-19 Patients – Cluster At Ito Campus

The prefecture is preparing to lease an additional hotel to accommodate more patients with no or mild symptoms of COVID-19. To prevent family infections, it will increase the use of those facilities, instead of asking patients to stay home. Also, Kyushu University announced confirmed infections of seven students at its Ito Campus on August 5. Those cases were considered a cluster, and the university has disinfected some student facilities. On August 6, Fukuoka Prefecture announced 137 more cases of the new coronavirus infection, including 90 instances found in Fukuoka City. The cumulative total for the prefecture now stands at 2,616.
