A preservation group is seeking a relocation site for Kangyoso, a 1950s residence in Fukuoka’s Josuidori area. The land is being sold following its owner’s death, putting the building at risk of demolition. The group says the residence needs to be moved by the end of 2027. An Agency for Cultural Affairs official who inspected the property two years ago assessed it as worthy of registration as a cultural property.
