Proposals to Extend the Urban Expressway Under Review

Proposals were put forward to extend the urban expressway to provide more convenient access to Fukuoka Airport. The city is currently reviewing plans to increase the Route 3 Airport Line by approximately 2 km. If completed, the new section of the expressway will run from the airport junction to the domestic terminal. Developers behind the project, which is expected to cost approximately ¥50 billion, feel confident that the new stretch of road will ease traffic congestion in the area during busy times. Finishing touches are being put on the design before being proposed to the legislative assembly. Source: TNC, 12/7/2017
