Public Group and Lawyers Petition For Reasonable School Uniform Rules

A group of residents in Fukuoka City submitted an official requisition to improve the in-school regulations pertaining to student clothing. The group, consisting of local parents and attorneys, found that school rules ban non-white underwear, ponytails, and other items for students at municipal junior high schools without adequate explanation. It also pointed out that male students at some schools are not given a choice for recently introduced gender-neutral uniforms. Source: NHK / TNC
