Questionnaire on Gifts for White Day

White Day began in 1978, when Fukuoka based confectioner, Ishimura Manseido Co.,Ltd, decided to dedicate a day when men can give gifts to women they received Valentine’s Day presents from. Originally, the day on Mar. 14, was called Marshmallow Day. Later, it became known as White Day. This year, 1,307 men responded to the first ‘White Day Online Questionnaire’ from Ishimura Manseido Co.,Ltd. 50% stated that they enjoy giving White Day gifts. 24.9% answered that they hoped to be liked by the people they give gifts to. 52.9% said that they carefully consider the persons taste that they are buying for when selecting gifts. 46.5% of respondents wanted to show their appreciation to the people around them by giving White Day gifts.
