Community Partners Fukuoka, operator of the Community Radio Tenjin FM radio station, began airing a new Chuo Ward crime and traffic information program. The station, which opened this January, broadcasts information about Tenjin and the surrounding area on 77.7 Mhz. The crime and traffic program airs Monday through Friday for 10 minutes from 15:50 based on information provided by the Fukuoka Chuo Police Station. This program is the result of an agreement between the radio station and the police station to make Chuo Ward “unfavorable to crime”. Takao Kawano, president of Community Partners Fukuoka, said he agreed to air the program to help reduce crime because his radio station was opened to contribute to community development.
