Kyushu Electric Power (Kyuden) announced a leakage of radioactive iodine at its Genkai nuclear plant No. 3 reactor. The company first detected a higher iodine level in the plant’s cooling water in November 2021. Investigations found some leakage from one of the 193 fuel assemblies for the reactor.
