The Kyushu Transport Bureau has launched safety and counter-terrorism inspections at train stations and onboard trains in preparation for the busy year-end and New Year period. Inspections began on December 10, with officials visiting Nishitetsu Fukuoka Station. Inspectors reviewed surveillance camera installations on trains and evaluated the operation of sensor-equipped rope platform barriers that alert passengers when touched. Bureau Director Shugo Harada emphasized the importance of consistent safety measures. The bureau plans to inspect 84 operators, including railways, buses, and ships, by January 10. Source: NHK
