The Fukuoka branch of Moji Customs announced that a record high amount of exports was shipped from the Port of Hakata in the first half of 2008. Exports rose 2.7% from the year-before period to 765.7 billion yen. This increase was accounted for primarily by the sharp rise in automobile exports to China.
