Ride a Bus with Kumamon

Miyazaki-based bus company Miyazaki Kotsu has launched a “ride-with-Kumamon” service on its Kumamoto-Miyazaki highway bus route. Available on seven of the company’s 14 daily round-trip treks between the two cities, the service lets customers reserve the open seat next to Kumamon at no additional fee. On the rides, Kumamon sits in a window seat in the middle of the bus, so one lucky customer can sit next to him for the entire 3 hour, 4 minute ride. On one of the seven trips, however, Miyazaki’s own mascot, Mucchan, one of the Miyazaki Ken dogs, stands in for Kumamon. The special rides are being offered through April 25.
