The Kyushu Bureau of Economy, Trade, and Industry released figures showing that large retail store sales in Kyushu and Yamaguchi Prefecture in July rose 0.9% from the previous year to 151.8 billion yen. This was the first rise in these sales in eight months. Driving the increase were food and beverage products sold in supermarkets, including ice cream and beverages sold in PET bottles.
