Rocket for Research Launched From Hiraodai, Kitakyushu

Space Walker, a rocket startup formed by researchers at the Tokyo University of Science, launched a rocket on March 17 from Hiraodai, Kitakyushu City. The rocket is named Gaaboo after the project’s collaborator company, whose owner is native of Kitakyushu City. Also supported by the students at Kyushu Institute of Technology, the winged rocket reached an altitude of 1,032 m in 14 seconds after takeoff and flew at a maximum speed of 607 km/h.
