Royal Holdings’ Fukuoka Food Plant, which produces food for the Royal chain of restaurants, is now halal certified. The company plans to begin supplying halal foods from the Fukuoka Plant to the metro Tokyo area, where the concentration of Muslim residents is the highest, in December. The plant, which can produce up to 5,000 meals a day for frozen shipment all over Japan, is Royal’s third halal-certified facility. Nishinippon Shimbun 8/13
