The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries released its report on the 2007 food self-sufficiency percentage by prefecture (based on calories). The leader in Kyushu was Saga Prefecture at 102%, an increase of 36 percentage points from the previous year. Saga was the only prefecture nationwide that exceeded 100%. Fukuoka Prefecture was the lowest at 22%.
