The Saga Prefecture government and the prefectural police signed an agreement to cooperate for excluding criminal groups from purchasing prefecture-owned land or buildings. It has just been revealed that in Saga City, a building on land owned by the national government and managed by the prefecture is used by a criminal group as offices. As part of the agreement, the prefectural police will screen all those submitting bids in an auction for connections to such groups. Up to now, potential bidders have had to sign a pledge that they are unconnected with such groups.
