The Kyushu Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry have released April’s preliminary sales figures for department stores and supermarkets (across 427 facilities) in the region. Increasing demand for high end goods such as jewelry from inbound tourists has seen sales in Kyushu and Okinawa rise to ¥119.6 billion, a 0.2% increase compared to the previous year.
