Seitaro Hattori Elected As Governor of Fukuoka Prefecture

Voting for Fukuoka Prefecture’s gubernatorial election took place on April 11, resulting in Seitaro Hattori’s victory. The Kitakyushu-native politician had served as the Vice Governor of the prefecture for over nine years and supported the former Governor Ogawa, who resigned in recent months to receive cancer treatment. Hattori’s administration plans to continue most of the policy initiated by his predecessor. Voter turn-out marked a record-low at just 29.61%, which was 13% lower than that of the former gubernatorial election in 2019.  Source: NHK / KBC / Sankei
