Seiyu to Exit Kyushu, Selling All Stores to Izumi

Seiyu announces the sale of all its Kyushu outlets, including the “Sunny” food supermarkets, to Hiroshima-based Izumi, marking its exit from the region. This move is part of Seiyu’s strategy to focus its management resources on operations in Honshu, following a similar withdrawal from Hokkaido. The transaction, for which the amount is undisclosed, is expected to see Yume Mart Kumamoto, a subsidiary of Izumi, taking over from August 1. Seiyu reassures that the Sunny brand will remain and employee employment will continue under the new ownership. Source: Seiyu / NHK
