Self-contained Mobile Toilet Developed in Fukuoka

Nishimu Electronics Industries Co., Ltd., a group company of Kyushu Electric Power Co., Inc., announced a self-contained toilet that will be useful in times of disaster. The mobile toilet unit, Towailet, functions without a power connection and self-treats human waste using microorganisms. The system effectively eliminates odor and leaves little waste of its own. A combination of a solar panel and battery allows the system to run for three days (or 300 uses) without charging. Sources: Nishimu
