Senior Citizens to Help Deliver Packages in Kitakyushu

Kitakyushu City is using local senior citizens to help provide cover for Sagawa Express’ lack of delivery truck drivers. Representatives from the Kitakyushu Silver Jinzai Center (a nationwide program that seeks to get older aged individuals back into employment), Sagawa Express, and the Mayor of Kitakyushu signed an agreement which gives people over the age of 60 the chance to help with delivering small and lightweight packages. The initiative started at the end of August and will see those who join receive ¥100 for each package delivered. Source: TNC, 8/23/2017
