Shared Taxis Connect Fukuoka and Kita-Kyushu Airport

Starting August 1, Fukuoka Prefecture is launching a pilot project to operate shared taxis for passengers of the “Fukuoka-Kita-Kyushu Limousine Bus”, which connects Tenjin Express Bus Terminal in downtown Fukuoka and Kita-Kyushu Airport during late night and early morning hours. The pick-up and drop-off area is within a 5-kilometer radius of the bus terminal. Reservations are required and the fare is a flat rate of 1,000 yen per person, regardless of distance. The aim of the project is to secure transportation during the hours when public transport is unavailable and to enhance the convenience of the limousine bus service. Kita-Kyushu Airport, located offshore, operates 24 hours a day, offering flights even during late night and early morning hours. Source: Fukuoka Prefecture / Nikkei
