Shibaura Group Holdings of Kitakyushu revealed it had signed an agreement with Saga City to build a megasolar power plant there on the site of a water purification plant that’s been vacant since 1997. Work on the 1,200kWh plant will begin in June, and operations are planned to begin in September. All the power produced will be sold to Kyushu Electric, and they project sales of 53 million yen annually.
