A 58-year-old man was arrested in Fukuoka’s Hakata Ward for allegedly stabbing a store manager while fleeing after shoplifting at a supermarket in the Foleo Hakata shopping complex.
According to police, the suspect, Masaki Miyanaga, was caught stealing three food items around 3:00 PM on January 29. When confronted by a security guard, he attempted to escape but was pursued by the store manager. Outside in the parking lot, he stabbed the manager multiple times in the thigh with a folding knife.
The manager was hospitalized but is not in critical condition. Police recovered the suspected weapon near the scene, and the suspect admitted to the attack. Authorities are investigating the details of the incident. Source: NHK
