A committee affiliated with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport met to study plans for a new Fukuoka Airport. During the meeting, six plans were presented for building an airport offshore. The option of adding a runway to the existing airport also was discussed. The committee will examine the plans and settle on one for new construction and one for expansion at their next meeting in August.
